Spores are supplied as spore prints on heavy foil. Each print is individually packaged and prepared for clean, stable storage. Spore print size and density may vary by species and variety. The origin of the A strain of Psilocybe cubensis is unknown, but it was originally supplied by a spore vendor in Idaho. In the Sporeworks catalog, A is important because it is the standard pigmented A strain form that later produced the leucistic mutation known as Albino A . A Strain is the normal pigmented A-strain form, while Albino A is the pale leucistic mutation derived from it. A connects a standard golden-brown cubensis phenotype with one of the best known leucistic Cubensis strain. Habitat: bovine and equine dung, and enriched soils Climate: subtropical Origin: unknown; originally supplied by a spore vendor in Idaho Cap: 25–50 mm in diameter, convex to broadly convex, becoming plane at maturity and often showing a persistent acute umbo. Reddish cinnamon brown, maturing to golden brown to light yellow with nearly white edges. Surface dry and lacking universal veil remnants on the cap. Flesh white, soon bruising bluish green where damaged. Stem: 150 mm long, yellowish. Flesh bruising bluish green where injured. A persistent membranous annulus from the partial veil may become dusted with purple-brown spores at maturity. Gills: attachment adnate to adnexed. Grayish in young fruit bodies, becoming dark purplish brown to nearly black as spores mature. Spores: dark purplish brown, subellipsoid, produced on 4-spored basidia.
